Jacobs Consultants brings decades of cybersecurity consulting experience into an independent practice. Every engagement is led by a senior consultant directly, with additional specialists drawn in as the scope requires, and clients are served across South Africa and internationally.
Dr Pierre Jacobs, founder
Jacobs Consultants is founded and led by Pierre Jacobs, who has worked in cybersecurity and IT governance for more than 25 years, across GRC, vCISO advisory, security operations and architecture review. His client work has spanned municipal government, retail, education, mining, telecommunications, financial services and defence sectors, across South Africa, the SADC region and international engagements.
He holds an MSc, a PhD and an MBA, together with CISSP and CISM certifications, and has worked with the ISO 27000 series, NIST CSF, CIS Controls and PCI DSS across a range of client environments.
He has also developed three methodologies used across large SOC and vCISO engagements: COPE, G-RISE and Journey to Green, covering operational efficiency, governance reporting and structured maturity improvement respectively.
Engagements are staffed as a team. Depending on scope, Pierre works alongside additional senior consultants across governance, technical security and audit disciplines, so a client gets the right combination of skills for a given piece of work rather than one generalist covering everything.
